Hispanic Human Capital

OVERVIEW:

This site is critical if  your financial survival depends on the loyalty and work ethic of your Hispanic employees.

Simply stated, your Hispanic employees are the Engine of Your Financial Future.

BACKGROUND:

It would not be surprising to learn that your most productive Hispanic workers, the ones who possess a superior work ethic and whose loyalty is critical to your financial well-bring, are in the Boomer generation and do not speak

English.

And when asked to identify an employer’s most pressing need regarding these employees, nine times out of ten they will say, “I want them to learn English.”

You are in a Catch-22.

For these mature workers, learning English is neither a need nor a priority for them, and therefore it will not happen.

SOLUTION:

That is a reality, and in order for you to make the best of it, you need to let go of that desire, and focus on  “Respectful Accommodation.”

What that means is this:  You should work with your Hispanic employees IN SPANISH.

Educate, train, and develop them – in their language. And you will reap the benefits.

Increase their job skills, just as you would your best English-speaking employees. Commit  your attention, time and money to their development. As you help them to succeed, you too will reap the benefits.

Here is another interesting Catch-22:  Your Hispanic employees know that are a valuable commodity, but they do not want to be treated as a commodity, any more than you would if conditions were reversed.

If you want your Hispanic employees to be loyal and committed to you and your company, you must be just as committed and loyal to them.
